Installation

Installing SEO Settings by JordanHost is simple. You can do it in one of two ways.

Method 1: Installation from the WordPress Dashboard (Recommended)

2. In the search box, type "SEO Settings by JordanHost".
3. Find the plugin in the search results and click the "Install Now" button.
4. Once the installation is complete, click the "Activate" button.

Method 2: Manual Upload

1. Download the plugin's .zip file from the official WordPress.org repository.
2. From your WordPress admin dashboard, navigate to Plugins > Add New.
3. Click the "Upload Plugin" button at the top of the page.
4. Choose the .zip file you downloaded and click "Install Now".

Getting Started: Initial Setup

After activating the plugin, you'll see a new "SEO Settings" menu item in your WordPress dashboard. We recommend a quick initial setup to get the most out of the plugin.

AI Content Generation

This is the core of SEO Settings. On any post, page, or WooCommerce product editor screen, scroll down below the content editor to find the "SEO Settings by JordanHost" box.

• SEO Title: The title that will appear in search engine results.
• Meta Description: The short description that appears under your title in search results.
• Focus Keywords: The main keywords for your content.

To use the AI, simply click the "Generate with AI ✨" button. The plugin will analyze your content and populate these fields with optimized, multilingual suggestions in seconds.

XML Sitemaps

An XML sitemap acts as a roadmap for search engines, helping them find and index your content faster.

1. Enable: Go to SEO Settings > General and check "Enable XML Sitemaps".
2. Configure: Go to the XML Sitemaps tab to select which post types (e.g., Posts, Pages, Products) you want to include in your sitemap.

Troubleshooting

If your sitemap link (e.g., yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml) shows a "404 Not Found" error, you need to refresh your WordPress permalinks. The plugin provides a helpful note and a button for this on the General settings tab. Just click the "Refresh Permalinks" button or manually go to Settings > Permalinks and click "Save Changes".

Schema Markup (JSON-LD)

Schema markup is code that helps search engines understand your content better, which can result in "rich snippets" (like ratings, prices, FAQs) in search results.

• Automatic Schema: The plugin automatically adds `Article` schema to posts and `Product` schema to WooCommerce products.
• Site-Wide Schema: To configure your brand's schema, go to SEO Settings > Schema Markup. Here you can set your `Organization` details (name, logo) and `Local Business` information (name, address, phone number, etc.).

File Editor (robots.txt & .htaccess)

For security, this feature is disabled by default.

How to Enable the File Editor:

1. Access your website's files via FTP or your hosting control panel's file manager.
2. Open your wp-config.php file, which is in the root directory of your WordPress installation.
3. Add the following line of code anywhere before the `/* That's all, stop editing! */` line:
   define('SEOSETTINGSBYJORDANHOST_ALLOW_FILE_EDIT', true);
4. Save the file. The "File Editor" tab in the plugin settings will now be active.

Is the AI content generation feature really free to use?

Yes. For you, the plugin user, the feature is completely free. The plugin is connected to our service, and we manage the AI integration on our end. There is no need for you to get your own API key.

My sitemap.xml link gives a 404 "Not Found" error. How do I fix it?
